Today’s itinerary entails: A visit to the Tower of London, a boat ride down the Thames, the Eye, dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant, Cut.
Another beautiful day in London (we’ve seen none of the rainy, foggy weather London is known for). We uncharacteristically grab a cab (we have been walking everywhere) and head to the Tower of London. We pass London’s financial district, and the Bank of London as we drive.
The museum within the Tower of London complex is filled with ancient British Army paraphernalia dating back to the 17th century. Examples include- guns, knives, armor, a dragon (see for yourself).
We decide to take a boat ride down the Thames heading back in the direction of Big Ben and our hotel. We pass beneath the London bridge (London Bridge is falling down – remember that song as a kid?) and pass an enormous Ferris wheel called the Eye – because it kind of resembles one.
We return to the hotel, shower and change, and head to the Dorchester’s sister hotel to have dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant, Cut. Stuart, the gentleman behind the hotel counter who made the reservation, said; this food is to die for. He was right, the entire experience was fantastic: the ambiance was luxurious yet comfortable, the service superb, and the food the best we’d had to date in London!
