As I take this moment to wish you all a Happy 2016, I am (painfully?) reminded that I’ve not posted since mid-November.
Originally (to be totally transparent) my impetus for writing this blog was to gather steam, and possible readership, for my memoir that was in production for publication.
But the blog took on its own life, mostly (selfishly) my healing process – and that resonated with my readership. Why wouldn’t it? We all want to heal and we learn from one another.
So, I find myself in a dilemma. I want to keep my blog and readership alive, but I’m unwilling to make a promise (regarding blogging specifics) that I may not be able to keep. Promises are important to me, and I hold myself to a high standard.
Perhaps we can leave it at this: I will try to post more often, with hopefully something worthwhile to say (that’s a tough one – I don’t want to disappoint myself or you), and garner the discipline to do so.
My memoir is out, and has been (while not a resounding success by most people’s standards) a resounding success for me. Many more copies sold, and being sold, than I anticipated, with many kind and poignant comments still coming in. A hefty endeavor completed that has helped to make 2015 a remarkable year.
And – let us look forward (but also clear up what holds us back) so that 2016 may be even better. ‘Better’ being a personal and highly subjective word. To us – writers, bloggers, readers, artists, parents, children, human beings – lift your proverbial glasses to finding and expressing your best selves!
